The WALKING SOCCER Tournament - Held at Arbutus Meadows - March 7, 2020

After months of preparation, VanIsle Walking Soccer held BC's first Provincial Walking Soccer Tournament on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at Arbutus Meadows Arena just outside the town of Parksville, B.C.  Teams came from Vancouver-UBC, Nanaimo and the Parksville-Qualicum Beach areas to play in a preliminary Round Robin followed by an elimination Playoff Round - ultimately won by the UBC Masters over the VIWS Alternatives side.  It was a wonderful day, well attended and also well supported by local Community Partners - the Regional District of Nanaimo and Coastal Community Credit Union.  Our Association hopes this is the beginning of the process to get Walking Soccer into the BC Senior Games in the near future.
